I have tried many times to read some books on small portions a day. It is cumbersome to calculate and keep track. This app is the perfect way to tackle some classics that I have always wanted to read and never had. The app is simple to use but it has very nice extra features that I didn’t expect. I love the highlighting and how you can download them all together. You can do notes. Fix the type and size of the typeface on the reading screen. It has fun words of encouragement every day and landmark badges. Great app. I am thankful it was recommended to me and gladly paid the for the premium version.

With the many distractions clambering for our attention nowadays this app is such a pleasure. Free unless you want to show your appreciation with a donation, this work helps amend the lack of literature in daily life, or correct the missing gaps in education. Very very grateful to its creator Michael Schmitt.
  • One of my favorite apps of all time.

Breaking down a story into bite sizes that I can read everyday has been encouraging! I’m reading the classics I’ve always wanted to read and I don’t feel it’s taking too much time out of my busy day. I do it during my lunch break or just a few minutes before bed. I hope more books get added or maybe let us recommend book lists.
  • Fabulous!

I’ve always wanted to be well read, but many of the classics seemed too daunting to begin with so many other current books easily accessible. Now that I have read two with this app, I’m hooked! And don’t be afraid to take advantage of the premium version as it is a one time purchase, and not a monthly fee! (So refreshing.)
  • Much Improved!

Serial Reader as kept disciplined reading the classics—especially Dickens & Eliot & Tolstoy & Melville. I might never visited without the help of SR. KUDOS

Thank you for this app. It has helped me rediscover a love of reading after far too much time on social media. Funny that an app can do that! The design is elegant, the interface is intuitive. I bought the full-feature upgrade immediately and am more than satisfied.

A great way to read the classics without having to be fully immersed in them. Very easy to read in addition to your primary book because of the magazine article nature. What would make it even better is if there was a way to check things off the list that you’ve already read or that are included in one of the anthologies also on the list.
