  • Glad for the updates

Grateful for the updates to make this compatible with new iOS and new iDevices. This was an expensive app when I bought it. Unlike other dictionary apps that I bought that were also expensive (eg Shorter Oxford English Dictionary) this one continues to update for compatibility while the other ones no longer work on newer devices.

I can't search on it. I don't know why? I just buy it today. I'm so sad when I see it like this. I use iPhone 6 plush.
  • Abandoned!? Replaced??

I thought this version 4.x app of Oxford Deluxe by Enfour, Inc. was replaced by a version 5.x app by English Channel, Inc. This disappeared for months, but now that the other has been absent for many weeks, this has returned to the App Store. I don't recommend buying this unless it gets updated. An update would make me more confident that this one is officially supported, and will continue to work on new devices with new iOS versions. But without a 2015 update, I think this is abandoned. Don't support abandon-ware.

An argument for libraries. Do not consider.
  • Rip off

This app gives no real etymology and is NOT the complete single volume OED as it advertises. A total rip. you are paying for nothing really unless you really need sounds. Many other apps give more derivation examples and definitions. Unfortunately, given the App Store prohibition on returning even falsely advertised apps I can't get my money back.
  • Is it really fixed?

I just upgraded this dictionary. And then there popped up a message saying,"I am a software thief." What's happening?
  • Fixed

Ok, they fixed the anti piracy issue quickly and added iPhone 5 support. Back to being a great dictionary.
  • Software thief?

I purchased this app through the app store and have used it for some time now. This morning the app crashed a number of times and now I am getting multiple notifications from the app with the title "I am a software thief!" I am not sure what I am being accused of, but I do not enjoy being accused of piracy. As for usage I have used a number of other dictionaries which have better interfaces than this. I would recommend them but the are for other languages. French - French and Japanese - Japanese. I do not mind paying high prices for a dictionary app. I do mind the company I bought it from calling me a thief.
