Voting and Karma: Instead of likes and hearts, Reddit’s social network runs on upvotes or downvotes. Voting on posts and comments increase or decrease the creator’s karma, and helps popular and relevant posts rise to the top, while filtering out low-quality or irrelevant posts. While karma doesn't directly impact your ability to use Reddit, more karma can increase posts’ visibility and help you get noticed. Some communities require karma to post or comment, which helps prevent spam or low-quality content. Fire the update team because they made it virtually impossible to read posts now without constant pop-up messages pertaining to this or that, and I’m constantly being brought back to the Apple Store to download the app, which I already downloaded. Pretty frustrating. I was never a heavy Reddit user anyway but this last update just may be the catalyst to cause me to say goodbye to this service for good.
  • Be careful what you say or groups you join.

Overall, content is good but too much is arbitrary. You can be prohibited or banned from one subreddit for simply commenting in or joining another. Moderation is also extremely arbitrary, and varies heavily from subreddit to subreddit. Navigating such content can be difficult at times if you choose to engage with others.

Disgusting how they just delete honest reviews of a decrepit and dying platform that has nearly zero resemblance to the original founders’ creation and intentions.
  • Text styling is not available on the app.

I really wish I could do quotations and italicize like I do on the website without having to use html code and such. It really detracts from the experience.
  • Except for the mods

Great program except for the mods, they’ll listen to a random person making false accusations to get their way, and be unable to provide evidence of any wrong doing by you. Then when that upsets you, they’ll mute you so can’t complain.
  • Reddit gets a bad wrap but it’s not true.

I’m usually not wanting to take part in social media however Reddit is kind of my exception. I know in the past Reddit has gotten a bad for where all the weird people hang out and all that. But honestly, I’m my about two years on Reddit I’ve learned that there are definitely both kinds of people on this app. it’s interesting to see because you can join any community you want and usually people are willing to help and give insight you wouldn’t have otherwise. The app is extremely user-friendly and allows for lots of customization. if you are a maker of any sorts or if you have a 3-D printer or honestly just wanna see cool stuff this is definitely the app for you. You could have all the best elements of social media leaving out the worst ones. if you’re still on the fence, just give it a try and if you don’t like it, then you can delete it.

Can’t view the post when opening up comment replies anymore. Too many ads.
  • Intrusive ads…

Reporting an ad for unwanted violence or sexual themes doesn’t remove them from my feed. This is awful.
  • Trash social media now

You will get banned over the most petty of things. Admins don’t care if mods harass you, bully you, or invade your privacy. The admins only care about making pennies for each click and crappy ad. Avoid this site at all costs. Reddit has begun to destroy itself and it’s become nothing more than a cash grab for admins and a power trip for the mods.
