Hugh’s news commentary is strong and I especially appreciate his discussions on judicial and legal issues. His extensive background in law and politics adds depth. HOWEVER, the podcast contains endless overhead: Hugh’s tiresome promotions of anything Ohio; Hugh’s inane abuses of Duane Patterson (who does a great job filling in on occasion); or the never ending rotation of Hugh’s charity du jour. FURTHERMORE, the mechanics of Salem’s broadcast stink. There are constant short but unexplained broadcast gaps, and commercials frequently begin and overlap news content. Makes me sad to write this. Hugh has a good program but it desperately needs improvements and a better broadcast partner.

Freezes and have to restart audio stream- literally a joke

Love the content but the app frequently won’t start streaming at all. It also occasional closes itself out. V frustrating.

I agree with all the other recent reviews. The app constantly goes into “buffering” mode. If I do some kind of reset (leave the app and then restart) I have to listen to the same commercial for some real estate investment firm EVERY time. This ad is often playing over the top of another ad. I love listening to Hugh, but this is just not working. I have emailed also, but it’s crickets.

I’ve had a subscription to Hewitt for the last several years and use the app daily so I can listen to the show on my schedule. The app has worked flawlessly for me until the last two updates. The whole point of listening off-line is to be able to listen uninterrupted. Two updates ago, the app stopped playing after the 10 to 13 minute mark and would need to be re-started. Once re-started, it would play through to the end. After the most recent, update it stops every 10 minutes and has to be restarted multiple times. Figured I could work my way around that by downloading each episode. That doesn’t work anymore either because episodes don’t download. If Hewitt is the great guy that he purports to be, and if he appreciates his listeners as he claims, he’ll note the comments and insist on improvements. I’m not holding my breath...

As others say, about 3 weeks ago after an “update” to the app it began cutting out after 30 seconds. I thus emailed the gnomes who make this app about ten times with ZERO response. Also emailed High (who I love) with no response either. He is a busy man and perhaps the gnomes are working to fix but at the moment this is a goat rodeo.

Love the content, but about every 30 seconds (except during commercials, of course) the app drops out, and I need to press something(s) to get it to kick back in. This causes me to miss important parts of comments/interviews, etc, and it’s very frustrating. I’ve tried deleting and re-uploading the app, with no improvement. Can’t you do better than this, please? Please have the app developer check on this issue, to provide a less-interrupted transfer of HH program to app users. I’d listen on the radio, but sadly, the show no longer airs in SF Bay Area, except 3-6AM.

I’m a big fan of the HH but please spend a few dollars and bring appearance up to current standards. Hugh, you have big audience. Small font tweets and that’s it? At least add a font adjustment for what is likely an older demographic who wakes to your show. Do you think we sleep with our glasses on? How about pulling in some headlines to complement your day’s content? Come on, Hugh.

Great content but interrupted every 7 minutes for 4 minutes of commercials. Makes it unbearable.
