I started trolling in 1982 by using the old fashioned way of line counting by counting how many times the level wind went back and forth to determine the depth of my crank baits. These folks don’t even try to be accurate. They say it takes 4.3mph to troll a 1/4oz jig 10 feet deep. Actual speed needed is about 0.8-1.0mph. Do better!! I love the layout and you’re asking all the right questions, but if you are not even in the ball park of being accurate, why bother?

The info this app has is great, however you have to get past the lame interface. There is literally hundreds of items in a giant list you have then eyeball and scroll through to find your particular item. No search. I spent like 30 minutes just adding the handful of lures because once you add one, the list resets and you start over on the next one. You’d think charging $2.99 per lure would give these guys enough money to pay someone to make a decent interface. Outside of that, once you do find your gear and add to the favorites, it’s easy and works great.

If one is a serious fisherman and trolling is a mainstay of technics used, this app is essential. For the countless dollars spent on the boat and equipment vs the price of the full membership, this is a mere drop in the bucket and a no brainer for the difference between a successful day on the water and just another boat ride. I would just like to see all of the lures that were published in the trolling books they had make it to the app, they already have the data.
