As soon as you start the game and try to explore, you’ll notice a repeating stutter and loud sound glitch every 20s or so. It’s noticeable and makes the game unplayable. The game was updated 4 years ago and based off the issues I’m having, it’s clear the game has been abandoned.

This is a great game, which is admittedly not flawless, but very worth the purchase price. I highly recommended this game if you are one or more of the following: -Like a fantasy narrative game with a story and puzzles to work through. -Don’t mind, or even enjoy a blocky, cartoon aesthetic. -Played Oceanhorn 2 (a “prequel” 1000yrs in the past of Oceanhorn 1) and want to make more sense of the, some say “perplexing”, ending. Make no mistake, OH1 is a step down in quality from OH2, but it is still very worth playing, especially if you want to understand the broader world and story arc they’ve created. -Or, from what I understand, if you’re a Zelda fan, you’ll also like this. There are some buggy elements to some of the mechanics that can be vexing at times. Other reviews cover them well enough so I won’t belabor that here. I’m not an avid gamer, with the majority of my experience via mobile, so take this with a grain of salt, but this is one of my top 3-5 favorite games ever.

Well worth the playtime. Took 24 hrs. It is a very good on the go game. I would like not to compare it to Zelda but there is no way not to. Imitation is the highest form of flattery. Nintendo should be flattered. If you enjoy LoZ I promise you will enjoy this.

Problems with puzzle timers from 2015 are still a problem and to date the dev has only responded on a single post with what is essentially “we don’t give a crap”

Oceanhorn is a gorgeous fun title that is well worth the asking price. It might be one of the most beautiful games on the App Store. Gameplay is smooth and the controls work well except during the boss battles where the speed and accuracy needed to win exceed the ability of iPhone touch controls which means you might not progress past the first boss for instance. Also, it is a bit grindy and the constant respawning of enemies is really annoying. Get yourself some kind of iPhone controller to really enjoy this beautiful game.

This game is pretty much great in every way, I have few complaints. I would however advise anybody getting into it to use youtube walkthroughs and wikis for help. Unless you are a level ten gamer some of the discoveries are very easy to miss and you can end up sitting in your boat wondering where you are supposed to go like an a-hole. Get a list of the island names and google "how to discover -----island" when you get lost, which you probably will. Use playthrough videos if you can't get past puzzles. It's called cheating. Do it. Everybody will be happy.

Great game, but needs an update. Crashes constantly; and if you start a new game some of the chests are already open. But otherwise a very entertaining fun game. Please update

Enjoy the game a lot! There is a lot to explore and it’s definitely fun. The only issue I have now is that I can’t play for more than a few minutes before the game crashes. Seems like the developers gave up on updating the game or something? Please fix the game so I can keep playing it because I really enjoyed it!

I’m twelve and I saved up money when I was ten to buy this game and I loved it was worth every penny
